Saint Philemon of 70 and Martyr Apphia of equal-to-the-Apostles, Saint Archippus of 70
The church celebrates the memory of two apostles from the age of 70, the holy Martyrs Archippus, Philemon and his wife Apphia. They were disciples of St. Paul the Apostle. They suffered for their faith in Jesus Christ under the Emperor Nero.
|St. Theodore of Sanaksar||
The church honors Saint Theodore of Sanaksar (birth name-Ivan Ignatievich Ushakov). Years of life: 1718-1791. In 1748, he was tonsured a monk with the name Theodore. In 1764, he became the head of the Sanaksar monastery. He was canonized in 2004.
