The icon of the Savior Not Made with Hands is one of the few images of the Savior that is recognized and especially revered in both the Catholic and Orthodox Orthodox Churches. This image is present in almost every Orthodox church and on home iconostases. It is the” Saviour Not Made with Hands ” that is considered the starting point for icon painters who begin their creative and spiritual path. It is assumed that the original image of the icon appeared miraculously, and was not created by a human hand. That is why it is called the “Savior Not Made with Hands”.
