O Bishop of God, St. Nikito! Hear us sinners, who today have flocked to this holy temple, and who worship your precious image, and who fall down to your most sacred ratha, and cry out with emotion: as when you sat on the throne of your holiness in this Great Novegrad, and lay down alone without rain, you brought the rain down by prayer, and gave the clouds to this city with a fiery flame, and gave them So now we beseech thee, O Saint Nikito of Christ: pray to the Lord, that thou mayest deliver the reigning cities, this great New City, and all the cities and Christian countries from cowardice, flood, hail, fire, hail, sword, and from all enemies visible and invisible, for the sake of thy prayers to the Saviour, we glorify the Most Holy One The Trinity, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and your gracious intercession, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages.
