Prayer to St. Silouan of Mount Athos

O God’s most faithful servant, Father Silouane! By the grace given to you from God, he prays tearfully for the whole universe-the dead, the living, and the future – do not be silent for us to the Lord, who fall down to you fervently and ask for your intercession with tenderness. O all-blessed One, encourage to prayer the Fervent Intercessor of the Christian race, the Most Blessed Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, who miraculously called you to be a faithful worker in Her earthly city, so that the chosen ones of God may be merciful and long-suffering for our sins, so that our unrighteousness and iniquity may not be remembered, but through the ineffable goodness of our Lord Jesus Christ may suffer and save us by His great grace. To Her, O Saint of God, with the Most Blessed Lady of the world , the Most Holy Abbess of Mount Athos, and Her holy ascetics of the earth, ask the holy ones for the Most Holy Word to the Most Holy Mount Athos, and to her God-loving desert dwellers from all the troubles and slanders of the enemy in the world to be preserved. May the holy Angels deliver us from evil, and strengthen us in faith and brotherly love by the Holy Spirit; may they make prayers for the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church to the end of the world, and show us the way of salvation for all; may the Church on earth and in heaven unceasingly praise the Creator and Father of Lights, enlightening and illuminating the world in the eternal truth and goodness of God. Ask the people of the whole earth for a prosperous and peaceful life, a spirit of humility and brotherly love, good morals and salvation, a spirit of fear of God. Let not malice and iniquity harden the hearts of men, which can destroy the love of God in men and cast them into God-defying enmity and fratricide, but in the power of divine love and righteousness, as in heaven and on earth hallowed be the name of God, His holy will be done in men, and peace and the kingdom of God reign on earth. So, O God’s servant, ask for the longed – for peace and heavenly blessing to your earthly Fatherland, the Land of Russia, in order to cover the Mother of God with the all-powerful omophorion, so that he may be delivered from the plague, destruction, cowardice, fire, sword, invasion of foreigners and internecine warfare, and from all enemies visible and invisible, and so that the most Holy house of the Most Blessed Theotokos may to the end of the world, abide by the life-giving power of the Cross, and be established in the love of God that never fails. But to all of us, who are plunged into the darkness of sin and have no repentance, who have nothing below the fear of God, and who constantly offend the Lord who loves us immensely, ask our All-merciful God, O All-blessed One, so that by His All-powerful divine grace He may visit and quicken our souls, and all the malice and pride of life, despondency and carelessness in our hearts Yes, it will. Again, we pray that we also, who are strengthened by the grace of the All-Holy Spirit and warmed by the love of God, in love for mankind and brotherly love, in humility and chastity for one another and for all, may be established in the righteousness of God and in the gracious love of God be well-behaved, and draw near to the son’s love. So doing His all-holy will, in all piety and purity of temporary life, let us pass away without shame, and with all the saints of the Heavenly Kingdom and His Lamb-like marriage we will be made worthy. To Him be glory, honor, and worship from all who are on earth and in heaven, together with His Father without Beginning, His All-holy, Good, and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages.
