Prayer to the Righteous Jonah of Odessa

O most precious and glorious our Father Jono, just shepherd and man of God! To you, as a great prayerbook and true guide, a permissive of evil spirits, a champion of the Orthodox Faith, a helper in need, a healer of the infirm, a patron of orphans and widows, and all those who call upon you in prayer with faith and love, we, your children, have recourse and earnestly ask: do not forget us, the humble and sinful show us thy fatherly intercession, and ask us of the Lord His rich mercies: fruitful lands, sweet airs, timely rains, peace and quiet in our days, multiplication of piety, health for the sick, comfort for the sorrowful, encouragement for the despondent, support for the poor, provision for the poor, prosperity for those who strive, and eternal salvation for all of us. To her, God’s servant! Beseech the All-merciful God to grant us miraculous help, and that through your prayers the Lord has raised up your daughter and healed the blind boy, so ask the Lord for the healing of our infirmities and the salvation of our souls. May we all, through your intercession as saviours, with one mouth and one heart glorify God in the Trinity, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and His grace given to you forever and ever. Amen.
