Prayer to the Holy Venerable Martyr Grand Duchess Elizabeth

O holy New Martyrs of Russia, Grand Duchess Elisaveta and her most venerable sister Nun Varvara of the Cross, who died peacefully in many torments, who fulfilled the gospel commandments by deeds in the Monastery of Mercy, who for the sake of the Orthodox faith strive to death in these last times, and who bore good fruit in the patience of the passion to Christ! Praying to Him, as the conqueror of death, may the Russian Orthodox Church and our Fatherland be established, redeemed by the blood and sufferings of the new martyrs, and not allow our property to be plundered by the enemy of Russia. For the evil enemy has armed himself against us, even though he will destroy us in internecine battles, sorrows, unbearable sorrows, sorrows, needs, and fierce troubles. Beseech the Lord to put down all their feeble boldness; strengthen faith in the hearts of Russian people, so that when the hour of trial comes upon us, we may receive the gift of courage through your prayers, rejecting ourselves and taking up our cross, and following Christ crucifying our flesh with our passions and lusts. Save us from all evil, sanctify the ways of our life, grant sincere repentance, peace and quiet to our souls, ask the Lord to deliver us all from bitter trials and eternal torments, and the heirs of the Heavenly Kingdom will be with all the saints who have pleased God from time immemorial, so that we may rejoice and give praise, honor, and worship to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit forever and ever.
