Prayer to Venerable Gennady, Wonderworker of Kostroma and Lyubimograd (Lyubomir)

O chosen one of God and wonderworker, Venerable Father Gennady! From your youth you have been filled with the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of piety and the fear of the Lord, and you have accepted all the weapons of God, girding up your true loins, putting on the armor of righteousness and putting on shoes to prepare the gospel of peace. For this reason, being established today, with the faces of bodiless powers, in the abode of the Heavenly Father, you are crowned with an unfading crown: and standing before the throne of the King of glory, the Lord of powers, you have the boldness to lift up your supplications and praises to Him. But we, the accursed ones, who lift up our eyes and hearts from the depths of evil to Zion on high, the dwelling place of the God of Jacob, beseech thee, Venerable Gennady: be our intercessor and intercessor before God and our Lord, the most righteous Judge, whom we provoke to anger by sinning against Him. And just as in the days of thy flesh thou didst perform the wondrous and most glorious work, O all-laudable Father, so also now, having passed away from us into the abode of the Heavenly Father, surprise with thy intercession the Lord’s mercy upon us. Yes, having run away from ungodliness and worldly lusts, but having pleased the Gods, let us find His help in times of need, and His blessing on us and on the works of our hands, and may He make us worthy to inherit the kingdom of heaven and to glorify and hymn with the faces of the saints the most honorable and glorious name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages centuries!
