Two Pimens
St. Pimen the Great
|
The feast of St. Pimen (IV-V centuries) comes from Egypt. He was nicknamed the Great because of his great humility, honesty, modesty and selfless service to God. |
Venerable Kuksha, Hieromonk, and Pimen Postnik of the Caves |
The church honors the memory of Saint Kuksha and his spiritual friend Pimen, who rest in the Nearby Antoniev Cave. Kuksha was an educator of the Vyatichi tribe-pagans who lived along the Oba River. He had the gift of performing miracles. Pimen was nicknamed Postnik for his many abstinences. He had the gift of healing the sick and predicting the future. |
