Prayer to Blessed Procopius, Holy Fool for Christ’s Sake, Ustyug Wonderworker

O great Saint of God and wonderworker, holy and blessed Procopius! To thee we pray and beseech thee: pray for us to the all-merciful God and our Saviour Jesus Christ, that He may extend His mercy to us who are unworthy, and grant us all that we need for life and piety: for the advancement of faith and love, the increase of piety, the establishment of peace, the fruitfulness of the earth, the health of the air, and in all good things good haste. The reigning grads, your city Ustyug and all the grads and weights of Russia are preserved by your intercession unharmed from all evil. Grant to all Orthodox Christians who prayerfully call upon you, who are alien to their needs: healing to the sick, consolation to the sorrowful, help to the distressed, encouragement to the despondent, provision to the poor, charity to the poor, but ask for the spirit of repentance and fear of God for all of us, so that having piously ended this temporary life, we may be worthy to receive a good Christian end and the kingdom of heaven with the elect of God to inherit. By God’s righteous One! Do not put to shame our hope, which we humbly place in you, but be our helper and intercessor in life, in death, and after our death: yes, through your intercession we have improved salvation, and together with you we will glorify the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and your strong intercession for us, to the ages of ages.
