Father to Saint Euthymius! From thy youth thou didst love Christ, and by His grace we strengthen Thee; thou didst slay all carnal wisdom; but by thy pure life and gentle disposition thou didst please the Lord, and by His grace thou didst strive on the throne of holiness, and didst appear, O good shepherd to the flock of Christ in the Great City of Novograd, laying down thy soul for thy flock. Thus, even after your death, glorify you, O Shepherd, Commander-in-Chief Christ, by giving us the image of a virtuous life in you, showing us the miracles that flow from you. Thus, as I, a sinner and despondent, fall down to the shrine of your relics and pray to you fervently: give me a helping hand, raise me up with your prayers from the depths of sin: for I am overcome by the waves of carnal passions and other innumerable worldly troubles. Be thou a warm intercessor and prayerbook for me, who am many sinners, that I may also be delivered from the sinful drowning, and attain to the abode of an immaculate life by the grace of Christ, and by a pure life I will glorify my Savior, who redeemed me with His blood: and having died of such a life, I will receive eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven, for which the Most honorable and Glorious Name is glorified Of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
