Prayer to St. Hermogenes, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia

O great Saint of Christ, our Holy Father Hermogenes! To you, a warm prayer book and an unashamed intercessor before God, we diligently flow, asking for comfort and help in our needs and sorrows. In the ancient year of temptations, vnegda obyshedshe obydosha our country impious vrazi. O Lord, show thee to Thy Church as an unshakable pillar and a good shepherd to the people of Russia, laying down thy soul for the sheep and turning away the fierce wolves far away. Now therefore look down upon us also, O unworthy child of thine, who with a tender soul and a contrite heart calleth upon thee. For our strength is scarce in us, and the enemy’s snares and snares are common to us. Help us, O our intercessor! Strengthen us in the most holy faith: teach us always to do the commandments of God and all the traditions of the church, which the father has commanded us. Be the archpastor our shepherd, a spiritual leader in the army, a physician to the sick, a comforter to the sorrowful, a protector to the persecuted, a mentor to the young, a merciful father to all, and a prayer book for all; for through your prayers may we protect, unceasingly sing and glorify the all-holy Name of the Life-giving Trinity, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, to the ages of ages. Amen.
