Prayer to the Holy Martyr Macarius, Metropolitan of Kiev

O great Saint of Christ, Holy Father Macarius! In the life of thy children, O thou who lovest death most dearly, and who didst betray thy soul for them, look down upon us from the Abodes Above, hearken to the sighs of our hearts, and help us who are unworthy and humble. Pray, O merciful Saint, that He may speak peace to His people and to His venerable ones, and to those who turn their hearts to Him. Grant us, O our father,the spirit of thy love for our most holy Mother, the Church of Christ; strengthen us, weakened by the spirit, to preserve the traditions of our fathers, and mark our saving memory of the misfortunes that have passed, and teach us always to sing praises to our benefactor God. Through your intercession at the throne of the Lord of powers, ask the Church of Christ to be protected from heresies and schisms; to your precious relics that flow and honor your holy namesake, the fulfillment of their good petitions, and to all Christians everything that is needed for temporary and eternal life, so that the most honorable and magnificent Name of the Father, and of the Son, and forever and ever.
