O sacred head, our Venerable and Venerable Father Tikhon! You are truly a man of spiritual desires and a second Daniel appeared to you. Just as this ancient one was made worthy of heavenly visions and wondrous revelations by the high virtue and sanctity of his life, so, O venerable one, you also believed in ascension in your hearts, and you succeeded in virtue, rising from strength to strength, and as a good and faithful servant, you entered into the joy of your Lord. In the same way, as your spiritual children, we too, who are moved by love, sing praiseworthy hymns in your honest memory, according to the measure of our faith, we will write to you and prayerfully call for the help of our infirmity. We humbly beseech thee, our venerable and most glorious Father Tikhon, through thy favorable prayers to the Lord, to protect this wilderness, which thou lovest, and the whole city, and all those who honor thy holy memory by faith, from every reproach of the enemy, from all troubles and adversities, and from all evil. Pray, O Venerable one, for all our power. Beseech the merciful God also for us who are humble and unworthy, that He may forgive us all our trespasses, that He may save us by His grace, and that He may make us worthy to enjoy eternal joy in Jerusalem on high, which is the mother of us all, together with you and all the saints who have pleased Him from time immemorial, in whom in the Trinity the glorified always, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
