O sacred head, pre-glorious wonderworker, God-bearing Father Demetrius! Fervently falling down to you, we pray: show us, the humble and sinful, your mighty intercession. For it is a sin for our sakes, not to ask for boldness in the Lord for His gifts, which are well-needed for us, but to you, who are an acceptable prayer book for Him, we offer and ask: ask us of His goodness all that is for the benefit of our souls and bodies: faith, truth, hope without reason, love without hypocrisy, courage in temptations, in evil sufferings patience, steadfastness in prayer, prosperity in piety, longed-for health, fruitfulness of the earth, well-being of the air, good-time rains, contentment in the needs of life, peace in our days, and a blessing from above for all our good deeds. Do not forget, O holy wonderworker, to mercifully visit your monastery, the towns and cities of our Orthodox countries, preserving and keeping them from all evil through your prayers. Remember all those who have faith and love for you and who call on your name in prayer, and mercifully fulfill their requests in good deeds, overshadowing them from above with your patristic blessing. O holy One of God, do not deprive us sinners of your much-needed intercession, but grant us the end of our good life and the inheritance of the Kingdom of Heaven. May we sing and glorify the wondrous One in our saints, our God, Father and Son and Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen.
