Prayer to Saint Joseph the Just, betrothed of the Most Holy Virgin Mary

O holy and righteous Joseph! When you were still on earth, you had great boldness toward the Son of God, who was pleased to call you His Father, as the betrothed of His Mother, and to obey you: we believe that you are now being established with the faces of the righteous in the heavenly abodes, and you will be heard in every petition you make to God and our Savior. Thus, we humbly beseech thee, seeking thy protection and intercession: as thou wast delivered from the storm of dark thoughts, so deliver us also, who are overcome by waves of confusion and passion: as thou didst protect the Immaculate Virgin from the slander of men, so protect us from all slander in vain: As thou didst preserve the incarnate Lord from all harm and bitterness, so by thy intercession preserve His Orthodox Church and all of us from all bitterness and harm. Weigh, O holy One of God, as the Son of God also has need of bodily needs in His flesh today, and you have served them: for this reason we beseech you, and help our temporary needs with your intercession, giving us all the good things that are needed in this life. But we ask thee most earnestly, grant that we may enjoy the remission of our sins from the Son whom thou hast called, the Only-begotten Son of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, and that we may be worthy to inherit the Kingdom of heaven through thy intercession, so that we also, who dwell with thee in the villages above, may glorify the One Tri-hypostatic God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever forever and ever.
