Prayer to Saint Nektary, Metropolitan of Pentapolis, Wonderworker of Aegina

O myr-streaming head, to Saint Nektary, Bishop of God! In the time of the great apostasy, having captured the world with wickedness, thou didst shine forth with piety, and didst break the head of the great Daybread that stings us. For this reason Christ has given us the gift of healing the sores that are incurable, which have afflicted us for our iniquities. We believe: God the just love thee, that for our sinners ‘ sake He may have mercy on thee, release us from our oaths, and deliver us from our infirmities, and that His name, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, may be feared and glorified throughout the whole world, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen. Oh, to Saint Nektary, our God-wise Father! Accept, O guardian of the Orthodox faith, the confession of the mouths of the Christ-named people gathered today in the temple by the grace of God who dwells in you. For the message has reached the borders of Russia, for you, who are great in the holy saints of Christ, appear to those who call on your name in all the ends of the universe, and grant healing from cancer. I have heard of the priest who is your namesake, and who built a temple in your name with great sorrows. For I was stricken with a cancer of the breast, which is sharpened with blood every day, and I suffered lute, but I did not leave my holy work. Suddenly you came down from heaven with much mercy to the Saint, and you appeared to him in the temple in a visible form. He same nepschuya you fellow one from mortals byt, proshashe your prayers and reche: “Bolyay I am velmi, obache khoshchu holy oltar nazdati, yes pone once the holy Liturgy together with parishioners will perform; after death and die ready I am, for death does not frighten me.” You just. O Father, thou bodiless one, water thy face with tears! and the volume of the sufferer, lobyzashe and glagol: “Do not grieve, my child, because you are tested for disease, you will be healthy. Vshi ubo o chududi sem vedati imut”. But he, who was healed, abie in his mind, with whom he conversed, was invisible to you. Oh, the great saint Nectary of Christ! This temple is now completed, and your miracles are multiplied like the overflowing sea! But we know that the prayer of the righteous must be hastened by our zeal for the service of God and by our determination to die for Christ, so that we may live and be rewarded. They beseech thee, O just father, thy sick children: that the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God may be done with us, who do not desire the death of the sinner, but that I may be converted and live for him. But you, herald of the will of God, heal us by your gracious appearance, so that God may be great in heaven and on earth forever and ever! Amen.
