Prayer to St. Agapit, Doctor of the Caves

O all-blessed Agapita, earthly Angel and heavenly man! We fall down to you with faith and love and pray to you diligently: show us your holy intercession to the humble and sinful; for it is not sin for our sake that the imams of the children of God are free to ask our Lord and Master for our needs, but to you, an auspicious prayer book, we offer you and ask you with much zeal: ask us from His benevolence is well-needed: gifts to our souls and bodies, faith in the law, love for all who are not hypocritical, patience in evil sufferings, healing from serious illnesses for those who are possessed by serious illnesses, those who fall under the burden of sorrows and misfortunes that are unbearable, and those who despair of their lives will receive quick relief and deliverance through your prayers. Do not forget, O blessed Father, this holy monastery, which always honors you, but keep it and all those who live and struggle in it, and who come to worship in it unharmed from the temptations of the devil and all evil. When our departure from this temporary life comes, and our return to eternity, do not deprive us of your heavenly help, but through your prayers lead us all to the haven of salvation, and make us heirs of the all-luminous Kingdom of Christ, so that we may sing and glorify the unspeakable mercies of the Loving God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and thine together with and Theodosius ‘ fatherly intercession forever and ever.
