Prayer to St. Gabriel of Mount Athos

Oh, our venerable and God-bearing Father Gabriel, the servant of Christ, a warm prayer book for us and a speedy helper! Behold, now we sinners and unworthy ones, who flow with reverence to the shrine of thy relics, earnestly beseech thee: for thou hast boldness toward Christ our God, and by thy God-pleasing intercession we will seek strength from the Lord, that He may bestow great and rich mercies upon us sinners, and grant us the spirit of right faith, the spirit of knowledge and love. The spirit of peace and joy about the Holy Dus. Pray, O holy Father, to the merciful God, that the light of His grace may shine forth to those who are in the darkness of false faith, and that they may know Christ the true God, that this light may shine forth to those who wander at the crossroads of schism, that they may be enlightened and come to the fence of the Orthodox Church, in which alone the eternal salvation of Help us, O God’s servant, that the Lord may call our people to great repentance and lament for the sins of our fatherland, that we may not perish with our iniquities, that He may quench the vacillations and strife in our land, that He may protect us from wrath, murder, enmity, and malice, that we may love one another together and abide one in the Lord and Saviour To Him belongs all glory, honor, and worship, with his Father without Beginning, and His All-holy, Good, and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
