O great Saint of God and most glorious wonderworker, Saint Pitirim! We humbly fall down to you and fervently pray: show us, sinners, your fatherly love and your many-powerful intercession. For we believe that your boldness toward the Lord is great, and that your intercession before the throne of His goodness can do much. Through your prayers preserve the Holy Church from heresies and schisms, from superstition and unbelief. Ask us for just faith, unquestionable hope, unfeigned love, success in good deeds, courage in temptations, patience in evil sufferings, constancy in prayers, peace and prosperity for our country, and the health and salvation of its people. Look mercifully upon those who come and pray before your holy icon, and fulfill all their petitions for good, and grant to all all that is needed in temporal and eternal life, to the glory of the wondrous God in Your saints, who in the Trinity is glorified and worshipped by the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen. Blessed and most glorified be the Lord God, who hast called thee, O our Holy Father Pitirim, from the first hour of the laborer in his vineyard, who hast shown in thee unwavering obedience to his will, zeal for the Forerunner, and love for Paul, who hast also set thee up on the altar of the Tambov church, and hast shown thee a great bishop. By the grace of your holiness we strengthen you, and by the fire of the love of Christ we inflame you, O good shepherd, who hast kept your eyes from sleeping, who hast kept your eyes from slumbering, who hast labored every day, who hast prayed and preached the good news, who hast enlightened the infidel, who hast admonished the lost, who hast raised up the fallen, who hast strengthened the weak, who hast comforted the weeping, who hast been all things to all, as did Saint Paul, nekia spaseshi. But when the time of thy work in vertograd was fulfilled for the house of the lord of Christ, and thou departed from the earth to the villages of the mountains, thou didst accept the reward of thy labors, and didst, O God’s servant, preside over the throne of the King of glory from the faces of the saints, and didst send forth thy flock to nazirate, to pray for us sinners, to bear the infirmities of the infirm, to heal the infirmities, and to quench sorrows. For this reason, on the day of your blessed dormition, I will not fail to come to you in sorrow and sickness, and with the touch of your robe, and with the water from your storehouse, I will bring you health and deliverance from all troubles. Wherefore even now, having descended to thy holy sepulchre, we glorify God, Who is wondrous in his saints, and to thee, most holy Father, we magnify and pray: do not depart from us by thy love, preserve by thy prayers the Orthodox Church unshakable from unbelief and schism, and protect the Russian state from troubles and adversities, granting it peace and serenity. do good to the holy church as pastors, correct the works of their hands, and by zeal for the salvation of the flock of words entrusted to them, they have painted their hearts, but keep all of us in obedience to the saving gospel of Christ, and keep the work of salvation, for we are one in need, and impute it to help us, so that through you, with one mouth and one heart, we may all sing and glorify the Saviour Christ at every day and hour with the Father and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen.
