Prayer to the Martyr Basil of Mangazey

Holy Martyr of Christ, Basil, the joy of the holy co-religionists, our Lord of sorrows and sorrows, and the destroyer of all evil from the demon, prostrate yourself and pray to thee: come to my intercession, that my mind may be cleansed from the sinful deed, for those who are deprived of the grace of God for this; having no firm foundation for repentance, grant me tenderness of soul and tears O sin-forgetful one, who raised up thy holy hands to the Lord Jesus Christ for my wretched soul, do not forsake me as a sinner, for the sake of my intemperance; strengthen me, who am in distress with spiritual thoughts and external afflictions, whether I am guilty of my own guilt, or indeed from those who hate me, but I will confess everything justly according to my sin. Be thou, O faint-hearted one, a protector and champion of the good and merciful; visit me, a sinner, in sorrows and sorrows, and preserve me from all confusion that is contrary, so that not when I anger my God and you, my good smolebnik, but strengthen me by your prayers in the passion of God and show me always worthy of your mercy.
