O sacred head, earthly angel, heavenly man, great wonderworker, our venerable Father Paphnutius! We earnestly run to you with faith and love, and ask you tenderly: show us to the humble and sinful your holy and much-powerful intercession. We do not dare, for our sin’s sake, with the freedom of the children of God, to ask our Lord and Master for mercy and forgiveness. But we offer and beseech you, who have an acceptable prayer book for him, to ask us from his goodness gifts that are well-needed and saving for our souls: just faith, strong piety, true repentance, forgiveness of sins, perfect life, decisive correction, so that having turned from evil deeds to pleasing God, we may not anger the Lord by violating his holy commandments. Beseech, O Holy One of God, the Most High Creator to grant peace and piety to our Orthodox country. Preserve, O saint of Christ, your holy abode, which you have created, and all those who live and strive in it are not vain from all evil. Look mercifully on the people who seek refuge in you, and fulfill all their petitions for good. But to all of us, pray to the All-merciful God for health of mind and body, fruitfulness of the earth, a quiet and well-pleasing life, a good Christian end, and a good answer at the Last Judgment, for you truly have great boldness towards him. To her, O Father, we believe that your prayer can be much in the presence of the Almighty Lord, and that it is impossible for your intercession to be worthless if you do so: for this reason we strongly trust in you and hope greatly in your holy prayers, that through your intercession you will lead us to the quiet haven of salvation, and that the heirs of the bright Kingdom of Christ will appear to us. Do not put to shame our hope, O holy wonderworker. And grant us, together with you, to enjoy the bliss of paradise, so that we may glorify, praise, and magnify the great mercy of the Human-loving God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and your good, fatherly intercession for us forever and ever. Amen.
