O sacred head, earthly Angel, heavenly man, great wonderworker, Venerable Father Cornelius! To you, with faith and love, we fervently seek refuge, and tenderly beseech you, our heavenly intercessor: show us, the humble and sinful, your fatherly love and your many-armed intercession: for it is a sin for our sakes, and we do not dare, with the freedom of the children of God, to ask our Lord and Master for what we need, but to you, We offer an acceptable prayer book to Him, believing without doubt, that all good things may be asked of us by His goodness, if only you will praise Him. Ask us, O God’s servant, of the all-merciful and loving God, for just faith, unshakeable piety, perfect repentance, and resolute correction of our lives: that we may not provoke the Lord to anger by violating His holy commandments, and that we may be worthy to receive forgiveness of our sins from Him. Preserve, O Holy One of God, through your prayers the Church of Christ from heresies and schisms, superstition and unbelief of men, so that holy Orthodoxy may flourish in it in all its power and bear fruit to saving souls. Keep from all evil the abode which you have created, and all those who live and strive in it according to your statutes, so that they may be safe and sound from the temptations of the enemy of human salvation. Look down mercifully on the coming rite of your relics and the people who pray who come to your monastery to worship, and fulfill all their petitions for good: heal the sick, comfort the sorrowful, and quickly give help to those in distress. But to all of us, pray to the All-merciful God for health of soul and body, fruitfulness of the earth, a quiet and God-pleasing life, a good Christian end and a good answer at the last judgment of Christ, for you truly have great boldness towards Him. Hey, Father! We believe that your prayer can do much in the presence of the Almighty Lord: for this reason we strongly trust in you, and in your holy prayers we strongly hope, that through your intercession you will lead us to the heavenly abode of salvation, and that you will show us the heirs of the all-bright kingdom of Christ. Do not put to shame, O holy Father, our hope, and grant us, together with you, to enjoy the bliss of paradise, so that we may glorify, praise, and magnify the mercy of God, the lover of mankind, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and your good fatherly intercession, forever and ever. Amen.
