Prayer to Mykhailo, First Metropolitan of Kiev

O great and most glorious Holy Archpastor and our Father Michael, Mother see and enlightener of the Russian land, and trustworthy intercessor of all Christian tribes before God, we prostrate ourselves and pray to you: help us to be an imitator of your love for God, for you were filled with it in your earthly belly. Enlighten our minds and hearts with the light of divine teaching. Teach us to follow you faithfully and to do the Lord’s commandments diligently, so that we may be your children not only in your name, but also in our whole life, so that we may be known. Pray, O hierarch equal to the apostles, for the Russian Church, for your city and monastery, in which your holy relics rest incorruptibly, and for the whole of our Fatherland, look mercifully upon all your faithful readers who seek your help: be a healer to all in pain, a comforter to all in sorrows and sorrows, a helper in troubles and needs, In the hour of death, however, I am your intercessor and protector, so that through your help we sinners may also receive salvation and inherit the kingdom of Christ.
